Perumbavoor (Malayalam: പെരുമ്പാവൂര് ) is a suburban region of Kochi city and a municipality in Ernakulam District in the Indian state of Kerala. It lies in the North Eastern tip of the Greater Cochin area and is also the headquarters of Kunnathunad Taluk. It is a Main Satellite Centres of Kochi City. Perumbavoor is famed in the state for wood industries and small-scale industries. Ernakulam lies 33 km southwest of Perumbavoor. The town lies between Angamaly and Muvattupuzha on the Main Central Road (MC), which connects Thiruvananthapuramto Angamaly through the old Travancore part of Kerala. Perumbavoor lies in the banks of rivers Periyar and Muvattupuzha.
It is one of the most strategically located industrially developing towns in Kerala, since its close to Ernakulam, where the city grows further towards east. There are many small-scale industries on the Aluva - Perumbavoor road. Trucks carrying wood and allied products like plywood travel from Perumbavoor to destinations like Coimbatore, Trivandrum and Mangalore. There is also a developing packaging and carton industry. Food processing, especially of rice and condiments, is also one of the prominent local industry.
